About Sandy<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m one part of a typical family couple balancing two kids, work, mortgage, uncontrollable garden and probably too many pets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our house in the Perth hills is a constant work in progress and after nearly fifteen years, I am almost ok with not having a real door on the ensuite.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Being in the bush or near water is my happy place and getting out at least once a day is an absolute must for my sanity.\u00a0\u00a0I love exploring the bush around us and tcan usually be seen with a couple of dogs in tow. Occasionally one of my lazy teenagers is motivated enough to join me<\/span><\/p>\n

As for work, well I never had a clear plan for my future and have always followed my interests and skills.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I waitressed in a caf\u00e9 then eventually worked my way to manager.\u00a0 I tried vet nursing, loved the business more than the role and spent many years working my way up to practice management. Here I was limited only by the legal requirement to marry or become a vet to own the business; neither were great options for me at the time.\u00a0 Next it was a move into manufacturing where the operational and training aspect soon captured my interest.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But I really hated being boxed into one role, preferring to be a master of everything. \u00a0And so my consultancy life began.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along the way I gathered a few pieces of paper with my name and stamps on them; Diploma of business, lead auditor, trainer assessor, and some health & safety units.\u00a0 But as important as these pieces of paper are in a resume, true credibility comes from solid industry experience. A proven track record, regular upskilling and a drive for continual improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years I’ve embraced my inner nerd by realising systems, process and training have always been my driving passions.\u00a0 People flourish (and stay) when given the right resources and opportunities.\u00a0 Grow the people and your business will grow too. Allow them to stagnate and your business will flatline.<\/span><\/p>\n

The written word holds limitless power in its ability to capture knowledge, beauty and humour.<\/p>

Sandy has always been fascinated with the endless combinations to be found with the\u00a0twenty six letters of the alphabet, and used them to shape the poetry, short stories and bawdy ballads of her youth.<\/p>

This passion for writing has continued to be central focus of her working\u00a0career.<\/p>

She spent\u00a010 years in veterinary practice management, honing her skills writing countless procedures, practice manuals and newsletters, even\u00a0a popular pet care column in the Litchfield Times during her last years in Darwin.<\/p>

After moving back to Perth, she\u00a0focused her skills\u00a0on quality management and\u00a0compliance.\u00a0It was soon discovered that she had\u00a0a unique ability to interpret complex processes into simple to follow work instructions and training tools.<\/p>

Throughout it all, Sandy has balanced the tediousness of technical\u00a0writing by using\u00a0training\u00a0as her outlet for creativity. Whether it is classroom based\u00a0adult learning, or computer based eLearning development, she\u00a0uses her energy and humour to engage learners in often dry subjects.<\/p>

Sandy lives in the Perth hills with her husband, two kids and far too many animals. You will often see her walking the local trails and creeks with dogs, dragging the kids along as an excuse to splash in puddles and get as dirty as possible.<\/p>
